The AAPOA hosted their annual picnic on July 6th, this year. This was a special picnic, though, because it celebrated our 50th anniversary. Thanks to our picnic chairman, Paul Longenderfer, and his able crew of assistants there were many new activities for children and adults alike. The weather cooperated which helped to make it great success. Neighbors saw each other and everyone met new friends, too. Pete DeFina handled the cooking all afternoon and everything was delicious.
A special thank you to Phil and Mary Lou Dooley who donated a magnificent cake to recognize the event.
Our anniversary AuSable Acres t-shirts were a big hit. Many were sold that day and, if anyone didn’t get one that wants one, send me an email and I will see that you get one. They are $15 each and 2 for $25.00.
There are so many people to thank for the success of this special day. The set up and take down crew worked tirelessly. Loyd Brewer made three new picnic tables. The volleyball net was finished. The list goes on and on. There will be a longer article and more pictures in the newsletter which will be out in the fall. Everyone who attended said it was the best picnic in many years. The AAPOA was proud to sponsor such a wonderful party to celebrate AuSable Acres
50 years.
