At our July meeting a suggestion was made to begin an “Adopt A Road” program in AuSable Acres so that the roadsides will be cleared of litter more regularly. The members in attendance were enthusiastic and some have volunteered already. So far Joyce Phillips has volunteered to adopt Fir St., Fran & Steve Shumway have adopted Tannenbaum Lane and Spruce Lane, Kathy DeFina has adopted Sawmill Rd. from Cross St. to Signor Lane, and John & Diane Mehrman have adopted the first section of AuSable Dr. We are off to a good start. I know that there are some people in the Acres who have quietly cleared streets in the past and I thank you for that. We would like to recognize you for the work you are doing. If you wish to adopt a road in the Acres, send me an email at president@37.60.251.185 and it will be yours. We all appreciate how great the area looks without litter. The Adopt A Road program seems to help in other areas, so we think it will work here, too. Please volunteer! Thanks.
